This is a movie written
by Justin Zackham and directed by Rob Reiner, released in 2007. Morgan Freeman,
a car mechanic and had harnessed dream of driving a race car. He’s fabulous at
general knowledge. Jack Nicholson is very rich and runs hospital business. Here the director makes a point that, one need
to meet other, like Rama meeting Sugriva or Hally meeting Sally! So they meet.
At the beginning Morgan
gets to know that he has some form of cancer. Meets Jack in the hospital ward. In
spite of their differences they talk and share things. And as can be expected
Jack also turns out to be a terminally ill cancer patient. Two men waiting for
their day of death, eventually write ‘a’ bucket list. This movie is not just about
making the list and realizing them, as what happens in Jindagi na milegi dubaara, but about the list itself – director is
efficient in conveying that the list is not an individual’s own, but a shared
one. List is perpetual – even if one making it dies, someone else may realize
it. Morgan Freemans’ acting is mind blowing. Jack Nicholson is equally enthralling.
During their stay in
hospital, a duty doc announces the terminality of Jack’s life, while he was
watching baseball through reflecting glasses. He takes the news easy and says that
doc is obstructing his view of TV. Jack asks him nothing but this question – ‘Morgan wants to ask something to Dr. Smith…?’.
. . (Mankutimmana Kagga).
Kopi Luwak is indeed one of the worlds' costliest coffees, produced in Java and Sumatra, and yes its the shit of cats.
This is a good movie, be
careful in recommending this to any of the senior fellow, as it may convey message
of bucket listing stuff.
